Dustless Hardwood Floor Refinishing

Dustless Hardwood Floor Refinishing

Some dust is unavoidable when sanding, but our dustless sanding equipment vacuums catch the majority of sanding dust, and industrial vacuums are used between each coat. Dustless sanding is not 100% dust-free, but dust is kept to a minimum.

How long does refinishing take?

Most projects take 3 to 7 days: about a day to sand 1,000 sq. ft., and 2 to 5 days for staining and polyurethane. Dark colors take longer because floors are water popped first. Cold or humid weather can add drying time.

What refinishing does — and does not — do

Refinishing smooths the wood already there. Pre-existing gaps remain, and wood filler will not absorb stain the same as wood. Stain is put down on your floor so you choose from the real thing.

Floor care

Vacuum weekly with a brush or felt attachment, never a beater bar. Wipe spills right away. Use a no-wax cleaner per the manufacturer. Never use Murphy’s Oil Soap, vinegar, wax, Rejuvenate, Orange Glo, or Mop & Glo. Have floors screened and coated every 3 to 5 years.
